Day Two Hundred Seventy Four

I worked all day today-trying to wrap my head around the fact that I am, indeed, in school and do, in fact, need to work at it.
Anyway, waking up at four in the morning thinking my world had ended didn't help much. I hate dreams that leave you shell-shocked for days.
Moving on.

pace n. A person's step in walking or the length of a person's step; stride; the gait of a horse in which teh legs on the same side are moved at the same time; rate of progress.

Hah!
Being about 5'1, I find that I spend most of my time keeping up with those that are taller. As a result, I tend to overcompensate and practically run everywhere I go.

Today, in heels, was no exception.

Day Two Hundred Seventy Three

Oh, sheesh.
I knew I had forgotten something when I laid down in bed last night. I'd even emailed the photos to myself of yesterday's post...but forgot to actually post the thing!!

So, still no typewriter font-Microsoft Word is still being a jerkface.

trou-sers pl., n. An outer garment that covers the lower half of the body.

Hah! I kept thinking...no, dictionary! I just got over my "trousers" phase.

I wanted there to be something else going on-I thought I'd try a different pose.

Day Two Hundred Seventy Two

Well, I'm back on track today. No typewriter font-my computer acts as if opening Microsoft Word is more difficult than time travel. Bleh.

I think I've had today's word before, but I cannot quite remember what I drew for it...hm.

nail n. A thin pointed piece of metal for hammering into wood and other materials to hold pieces together. v. To fasten with nails.

Hm.
I did a bit of writing oh...a few days back...kind of inspired by these halved babydoll heads that have been nailed up through their foreheads in an alley downtown for a good few months now. They went up before Easter, and have started to wear down and get bleached by the sun. The plastic is brittle now, and pale-they've lost some of their creepy edge as they've faded.
Anyway, I came upon today's word and thought I'd illustrate one of these heads.

Hm.

tas-sel n. An ornamental decoration made from a bunch of string or thread.

So, guys, the drawing to this word is SOMEWHERE. Somewhere in the pit of hell and chaos that is currently my bedroom. As soon as I find it, I will photograph it and report back to you. Apologies.

Day Two Hundred Sixty Nine

Today, today..
Worked on a bunch of zine promo cards. I’m sure the neighbors were freaked out at the girl in her polka dot pjs and a respirator, spray painting furiously at 9 or 10 in the morning. Ah, well.

I could’ve done something really interesting with today’s word. But the combination of my splitting headache and the fact that it hit so close to home sort of made me lose my motivation.

Now that I’ve really made you want to keep reading...

keep v. To have and hold; to not let go; to maintain, as business records; to know a secret and not divulge it; to protect and defend.

I decided to illustrate the want to keep, as opposed to the actual act of keeping. I won’t get too into this.

Day Two Hundred Sixty Eight

I spent (what I hope is my last day of being sick) wading through a mountain of high school and enjoying the hell out of a band I was introduced to this morning.
I rather enjoyed today’s word.
It reminded me of the effect of taking the hair sticks (pencils) out of my hair this afternoon.

tan-gly adj. To be full of tangles.

I kept it simple with a sketch in pencil; I wanted to give the hair a lighter, airy look.
